SOCIAL STUDIES

Collaboration

Children must understand the past to understand the current social and political climate. Learning social studies is the best way to do this. It is the study of human society, social relationships, history, and politics.

At PS 30M, students use rich content, themes, and big ideas to learn history, geography, civics, citizenship, and government. They also use important skills to “think like historians.”

Understanding social studies also allow students to make informed decisions about their world. They can become engaged global citizens. This level of awareness is important even for our youngest learners. And with teachers guiding them, students can explore their natural interests in the world around them.
